R&D Manager

Aufgaben

  • Longer term targets would include but not be limited to:
  • Researching and implementing solutions and strategies, being a communication channel with parties assisting on problem’s resolution. This includes improvement of the consistency of procedures and workflows, documented processes improvement of quality of models directly resulting in better quality of drawings, efficient usage of available software by process automatization (where possible) and growth of team’s proficiency. An expected achievement from these practices would be “non-stressful” for employees increase of produced deliverables.
  • Plan strategies to expand the services/ field of operation of the company bringing balance between human, project and marketing perspective.
  • Gradually change attitude of the co-workers related to innovation, motivation to learn& apply technology and automatization of manual operations, awaken interest to projects by better understanding of German construction technics/ tools/ materials.
  • Software:
  • R&D Innovative solutions to stay on cusp of technology, propose and manage pilot initiatives.
  • Interoperability Management of BIM and design / engineering tools.
  • Manage/ train/ implement collaborative data environment(s).
  • Standards:
  • Assist in developing and enforcing documentation and workflow process standards.
  • Follow up the implementation of standards, processes & procedures.
  • Automate routines in department to support standards and productivity.
  • Management & Supervision:
  • Devise on department/ company’s strategy of development.
  • Coordinate tasks of BIM/ IT development, provide effective communication to BODs.
  • Report R&D Team progress on regular company’s meetings with BODs.
  • When possible, support Project Manager with project management & coordination tasks (project engagement allows to have deeper overview of client demands, current problems and possible solutions)
  • Review, approved and collect team performance data; Evaluate performance and report to management/ director’s reason for lack of performance; advice on adequate measures to directors;
  • Assign new projects to subordinates, supervise and control implementation; Support team members in reviewing of project data/ analysis reports. Ensure goals and expected outcome is clearly defined
  • Review and approve leave applications of R&D team members, coordinate and assure that approved leaves have no negative impact on project deadline.
  • Supervise R&D Team members attendance daily regarding company working time regulations, report daily to HR on any working time violations of team members.
  • Training & Development:
  • Design and manage internal sustainable trainings for new processes and workflows including the related documentation (Documents, LMS - learning management system e.g. Moodle, videos, presentations)
  • Support training team to design related tests and exercises
  • Support:
  • Create “internal consultant” approach to address all present difficulties, development suggestions to serve project and team needs.
  • Support marketing department managing the production of marketing material and for weekly posts
  • Project Interface:
  • Manage and maintain project content and source additional content for project teams.
  • Support project standards coordination with internal and external customers.
  • Work with Development team to implement R&D projects.
  • Assist Project teams in project setup, Revit/ Allplan families for particular project needs.
  • Team Development and Evaluation:
  • Check and approve performance sheets of teams and applications for bonus payments.
  • Evaluate team members.
  • Manage and assist recruitment activities and induction of new team members.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Perform regular team meetings, and attend company meetings as required, advice and propose adequate measures to improve on procedures and solve issues.
  • Present to BODs a quarterly and measurable R&D Development plan including but not limited to budgeting and time schedule.
  • Provide regular advice on improvements to BODs on company procedures and standards.
  • - Conduct monthly surveys to identify areas of improvements
  • - Weekly and Monthly report to BOD based on required information
  • Perform all duties assigned by the BODs, and act in the best interest of the Company.

Anforderungen   

  • Graduate/ Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Advanced written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Curiosity and High attention to detail and ability to drill down to the core of issues
  • Strategic thinking
  • Good Problem-Solving skills
  • Leadership skills and strong work ethic
  • Structured working and result oriented approach
  • Proficient in a BIM Software
  • Ability and willing ness to learn new things.
