Team Leader Structural Engineering

Aufgaben

  • 1. General
  • Receive and follow assignments from Project Manager, Head of Department or BoD
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by Project Manager, Head of Department or BoD;
  • Follow company regulations and code of business conduct;
  • 2. HR Resources/ Team and Training
  • Plan HR schedule of team and update weekly in database, assure that HR team schedule if weekly updated on white board
  • Plan time schedule of projects (submittal date forecast), update weekly deadlines for all team members in database; coordinate time schedule with line manager; prepare weekly drawing forecast;
  • Make recruitment request if having demand on additional works or lack of resources; replace resigned employees within 45 days;
  • Support HR team in interviewing to ensure to find the right candidate;
  • Assign overtime and follow up overtime of required due to project deadlines.
  • Assure every project deadlines and quality aspects are met;
  • Review and approve leave application of team members and assure that approved leaves have no negative impact on project deadlines;
  • Coach new team member about their work (ex. Allplan software, Revit Software, way to name files, European code, Company standard, etc.)
  • Assign and supervise the tasks of all team members; Assure each team member has assigned tasks with 2 weeks forecast;
  • Arrange team meetings to discuss about project status, solving problems, clarifications and upcoming submittals. Prepare meeting minutes MoM with clear tasks, responsibilities and deadlines related to ongoing projects and save in team folder;
  • Prepare, arrange and hold regular trainings about different topics for BIM engineers (at least 2 times and min. 4h of training per month), Training can be done by team leader or Co-Team Leader;
  • 3. Project Coordination
  • Review the project input data provided by the Client including but not limited to: Structural Analysis report;  Architectural or structural design drawings; Figure out missing information Additional details or sketches;
  • Inform the Project Manager or/ and Line Manager in advance if any deadline cannot be met and provide proposal for solution;
  • Ensure conformity of drawings to customer specifications, company standards as well as other regulation requirements;
  • Prepare drawing lists for delivery and check the content of drawings list before each delivery; Prepare submittal folders;
  • Be responsible that every drawing is check according to the QA/QC procedure of the company;
  • Follow up the project schedule / delivery dates to ensure that all the deadlines are met;
  • Follow up design changes by architects and incorporate/ update design drawings based on latest architectural design until the project is constructed;
  • Incorporate all comments by client and checking engineer within short time/ deadline;
  • Be responsible for reporting to Team or Line Manager in case of design changes by Client; Prepare variation list and send to PM if design changes appear before changes are implemented;
  • Coordinate with Checking Engineer, Team Manager and Project Manager for any arisen matters;
  • Coordinate with BIM Manager to assure smooth processes;
  • Attendance the project and team meetings and give regular advice for improvements
  • 4. Team Performance, Evaluation and Report
  • Evaluate every team member performance monthly until 7th of each month, take required action if team members do not meet performance requirements;
  • Evaluate team members regular based on efficiency, quality, compliance and attitude; Identify reason for lack of performance and inform HR, Team Manager or Line Manager;
  • Submit team bonus application to Team Manager on time according to bonus agreement regulation
  • Registers and report error drawings and QA/QC Issues in database and notify HR;
  • Report to HR and Team Manager if any team member does not follow assigned tasks or QA/QS Procedures;
  • Report to HR and Team Manager if any team member does not follow working time, or assigned overtime
  • Prepare quarterly team leader report based on template including team evaluation overview and proposed improvements, present results to BoD quarterly in presentation;
  • Prepare for each completed project a project completion report incl. presentation
  • 5. Development
  • Develop processes and procedures to support and improve design practices;
  • Develop and propose improvements to design process and procedures;
  • Develop gbc design standards and company handbooks; Assist BIM Manager in developing Standards;
  • Team Leader must attend and take part in at least 1 training per month (min 2h)

Anforderungen   

  • Relevant Degree qualification or proven experience within the Civil & Structural Engineering sector;
  • At least 3 years of experience as CAD Draftsmen or BIM Engineer;
  • Excellent leadership skills; Ability to lead and motivate teams;
  • Ability to manage personnel on a day to day basis;
  • Being able to respect tight deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Being able to work with minimum supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time;
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, peers, and industry colleagues/contacts in a team environment;
  • Able to think globally and work with various cultures/backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change;
  • Knowledgeable of European standard (Eurocode).
